Delaware Files Climate Suit Against Exxon, Chevron, Others (2)

Delaware is suing dozens of oil and gas companies and the American Petroleum Institute for allegedly deceiving the public about climate change, the third such lawsuit in a week.

Attorney General Kathy Jennings (D) announced the lawsuit Thursday, targeting Exxon Mobil Corp., Chevron Corp., and other oil giants.

“Delawareans are already paying for the malfeasance of the world’s biggest fossil fuel companies,” she said in a statement. “Exxon, Chevron, and other mega-corporations knew exactly what kind of sacrifices the world would make to support their profits, and they deceived the public for decades.”
