Defamation, Tort Claims by Fired Prairie View Hoops Coach Tossed

Prairie View A&M University’s athletic director won’t face defamation and tort claims brought by a coach she fired over alleged Title IX violations, a Texas appeals court ruled March 26.

Dawn Brown, former coach of Prairie View’s women’s basketball team, failed to establish that she had sued Ashley Robinson in her individual capacity, the Texas Court of Appeals, Fourteenth District, said. State law therefore required the claims be dismissed.
