Deer Park, Niagara Water Producers Sued Over ‘Recyclable’ Claims

The producers of Deer Park, Niagara, and other bottled waters dupe consumers into thinking the bottles are “100% recyclable” when they can’t be recycled as packaged, according to a new proposed class lawsuit in federal court in New Jersey.

As consumers have become increasingly aware of problems associated with “plastic pollution,” many seek out products that are compostable or recyclable to divert waste from waterways, oceans, their communities, landfills, and incinerators, Sharon Haggerty alleges.
