Daikin Gets $10 Million Award Tossed Over Air Conditioner Parts

Air conditioner parts maker Daikin North America LLC convinced the Massachusetts top court Thursday to vacate a $10.6 million judgment in a suit by the owner of a Boston mansion whose HVAC system failed.

The trial judge erred in declining to apply the “component parts doctrine” to the nondefective component distributed by Daikin NA, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court said.
