Pipe insulation company Covil Corp. must pay a $32.7 million jury award over a worker’s asbestos exposure at a Firestone plant.
No reason exists to set aside the liability finding on the claims of negligence and failure to warn, or to give Covil a new trial, the Middle District of North Carolina said May 1.
The court also declined to second guess the jury’s damages award in favor of the estate of Franklin Finch, who died from mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos.
