CoverGirl Makeup Buyer Voluntarily Drops Hidden PFAS Lawsuit

A California consumer who alleged Coty Inc. and its Noxell Corp. unit misleadingly touted CoverGirl TruBlend Pressed Powder as “safe” or “sustainable” despite the inclusion PFAS has voluntarily dropped her lawsuit, for now.

Yeraldinne Solis sued the companies in the US District Court for the Southern District of California. She alleged that independent testing found heightened fluorine levels, indicating the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, part of a group of “forever chemicals” known to harm humans and the environment.
