CoverGirl, Coty Hit With False-Ad Suit Over PFAS in Powder (2)

Coty Inc. and its CoverGirl Cosmetics unit deceptively market TruBlend Pressed Powder as “sustainable” and “safe” despite the undisclosed presence of “forever chemicals” known as PFAS, a new proposed class action in a federal court in California alleges.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances are synthetic chemicals known to be harmful to both the environment and humans. Because PFAS persist and accumulate over time, they are harmful even at very low levels, Yeraldinne Solis says in a complaint filed March 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
