Deborah Brown and others alleged that they overpaid for waterproof mascara products because of the presence of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, “forever chemicals” which linger in the environment and may have negative health impacts on humans. A previous iteration of their lawsuit was dismissed by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York earlier this year with leave to amend.
