Consumers Sue Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens Over Mislabeled Herbal Supplements

Retailers Walgreen Co., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Target Corp. were hit with would-be class suits over misbranded herbal products, following the recent announcement by New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman (D) that the companies’ store-brand products didn’t contain essential ingredients listed on the label.

Schneiderman directed GNC Holdings Inc., Wal-Mart, Walgreens and Target to drop products purportedly containing herbs such as echinacea, ginseng and St. John’s wort 43 PSLR 172, 2/9/15.
