Team Group Inc., a computer component seller, was hit with a proposed class action Friday alleging it deceptively advertises how quickly its memory products transfer data.
Though Team Group advertises specific high megahertz speeds, “in reality, trying to get the advertised speed requires altering the PC firmware to attempt to ‘overclock’ the memory and make it run higher than standard speeds,” the complaint filed by two consumers in the US District Court for the Central District of California says.
