College Housing Company Sued Over Rents Charged During Shutdown

Student housing company Campus Advantage Inc. is facing a proposed class action by college students and their parents seeking partial refund of room, board, and other costs paid out after schools went to online classes due to the coronavirus.

The named plaintiffs are Joseph Longo, a student at University of Central Florida, and two parents of students who attend the school. The students all resided in dormitory style housing provided by Campus Advantage.

The students moved out of the housing and turned in their keys, but are still required to pay rent, the complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court ...
