Jackie Fitzhenry-Russell filed a proposed class suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. She alleged Coke misleadingly sold the drinks as “Made with Real Ginger” when they don’t contain “real ginger” as reasonable consumers understand that term.
Nor do the sodas provide the health benefits consumers expect from real ginger, she said. Coke denied the allegations.
