Clorox Sues Reckitt Benckiser Over Lysol Ad Campaign (1)

The Clorox Co. accuses Reckitt Benckiser LLC, maker of Lysol brand cleaning products, of running a dirty advertising campaign in a new lawsuit in federal court.

To boost Lysol sales, RB “has undertaken a wide-ranging, false and deceptive advertising campaign designed to erode consumer confidence and trust in the Clorox brand,” Clorox claims.

The complaint accuses RB of unfairly disparaging multiple Clorox products. The ads indicate, for example, that Clorox Disinfecting Wipes are less durable than Lysol Disinfecting Wipes; that Clorox Clean-Up Cleaner + Bleach leaves behind a “harsh chemical residue"; and that Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner with Bleach ...
