Clinique Laboratories LLC still faces a proposed class action alleging it deceptively markets “oil-free” skin care products that contain oils, but an Illinois federal court on Monday said the lead plaintiff may represent only those who bought the same products she did.
Norah Flaherty bought Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder, and Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer at a Chicago Sephora store in March 2021.
Flaherty said she avoids skincare products containing oils, and alleges she experienced eye irritation, skin breakouts, and oily-feeling skin after using the three Clinique products.
