Would-be classes of California and New York consumers may continue with most of their claims challenging the lack of flammability warnings on a Garnier Fructis hair styling product, a federal trial court in California held Feb. 6 (Guido v. L’Oreal USA Inc., C.D. Cal., No. 11-1067).
The plaintiffs adequately stated claims against L’Oreal USA Inc. and L’Oreal USA Products Inc. (collectively, L’Oreal) for failure to warn consumers that Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum could ignite when exposed to a spark, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said.
