Chrysler Recalls 40,000 Dodge, Jeep Autos To Replace Wireless Ignition Node Modules

Chrysler is recalling more than 40,000 vehicles for an electrical problem that could allow the key to be removed from the ignition before the vehicle is placed in park, leading to potential unintended movement, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents released May 13.

The automaker told NHTSA that the wireless ignition node (WIN) modules of some vehicles may exhibit binding of the solenoid latch. That could allow the key to be removed from the ignition switch (WIN module) before the vehicle is shifted into park (NHTSA Recall #10V-200).
