Chobani Misstates Sugar Content in Kids’ Yogurt, Dannon Says

Chobani LLC has been accused by Dannon of misleading consumers with false statements that its drinkable children’s yogurt contains 33 percent less sugar than Dannon’s comparable drinkable yogurt.

Danone U.S. LLC, once known as the Dannon Co., filed its false advertising lawsuit Dec. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Chobani has positioned its kids’ Gimmes Milkshakes as a direct competitor to Dannon’s Danimals Smoothies, according to the complaint.
