Children’s Place Fake Sale Voucher Settlement Gets Early Nod

Children’s Place Inc. and consumers won a California federal trial court’s preliminary approval of an at least $4.8 million nationwide class settlement in a suit alleging the clothing chain advertised bogus sale prices to entice customers.

The deal, which provides customers with up to $18 in vouchers apiece, isn’t a “coupon settlement” under the Class Action Fairness Act, and is fair, adequate, and reasonable, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California said.

It set a final fairness hearing for July 31.
