Chaplains Fail to Show Bias in Navy Promotions

Protestant chaplains alleging they were passed over for promotions or slated for early retirement failed to show in a lawsuit that the U.S. Navy unconstitutionally discriminated against them because of their faith.

The group didn’t demonstrate intentional bias, or show that discriminatory intent could be inferred from the effect of the Navy’s policies, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said in the latest chapter in the long-running litigation.
