Carmen Electra, Other Models See Strip Club Photo Suit Winnowed

Carmen Electra and 11 other professional models suffered a setback in Ohio as a federal court pared back a suit alleging a strip club used their images in advertisements without their permission.

The women can’t sue Dreamers Cabaret LLC to recover damages for negligence or unjust enrichment, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio said July 18. Claims for invasion of privacy through the misappropriation of the plaintiffs’ names, images, and identities; violation of the Ohio Deceptive Trade Practices Act; and violation of the federal Lanham Act remain in the suit.
