A can of soup produced by food giant Campbell Soup Co. gave a California man salmonella poisoning in 2016, a recently-filed complaint alleges.
The soup, which Robert Clark says he purchased at a Los Angeles store operated by Target Corp., infected him with salmonellosis, a potentially serious bacterial illness that causes diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps.
The case, filed Feb. 9 in California Superior Court, Los Angeles County, also cites Target, one of its employees, and other unnamed entities as defendants.
