California Food Brand Sued Over Pollution Discharges Into Bay

San Francisco Bay Area food manufacturer Santini Foods Inc. was hit with a federal lawsuit from the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance alleging the company’s canning facility allows the illegally discharge of waste water into the San Francisco Bay.

The lawsuit filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Santini’s facility located in San Lorenzo, Calif., on the east side of the Bay is failing to prevent or monitor discharge of polluted water and not using proper treatment technology.
