Bristol-Myers, Ostuka Settle Suits Linking Abilify to Gambling

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. have settled with thousands of plaintiffs who alleged Abilify caused uncontrollable gambling urges.

Details of the master settlement, which resolves claims in both federal and state court, are confidential, according to a filing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida.

More than 2,300 suits are pending in the federal multidistrict proceeding in Northern Florida. More suits are in a variety of state courts.
