Bravelle Fertility Drug Suit to be Refiled

Two women plan to refile their suit against Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc. alleging they lost opportunities for pregnancy and incurred expenses because of the company’s recalled fertility drug Bravelle, their attorney told Bloomberg BNA Jan. 13 (Bahalim v. Ferring Pharm., Inc., 2017 BL 9425, N.D. Ill., No. 16-8335, 1/12/17).

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed the suit Jan. 12. The court said it lacked jurisdiction, or authority to hear the suit, because there wasn’t enough of a connection between Ferring and Illinois, where the case was filed.
