Blue Diamond Growers tricks almond milk customers about the amount of vanilla in its vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk products, a new proposed class suit says.
The products’ front labels deceptively represent that the Almond Breeze products contained flavoring exclusively from vanilla, according to Ryan Cosgrove’s Sept. 27 suit in the Southern District of New York.
But the ingredient lists reveal the products also contain “natural flavor,” the suit alleges. Because the almond milk contains flavor not derived from vanilla, their conspicuous representation as “vanilla” is false, deceptive and misleading, the suit alleges.
