Bimbo Bakeries Deceptive Label Suit Gets Class Status

Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc. faces a class action seeking changes to allegedly misleading labeling on certain Sara Lee, Arnold, and other baked goods.

Plaintiffs Alex Ang and Lynne Streit have standing to seek injunctive relief, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said.

But the plaintiffs, who alleged they overpaid for the goods because of the allegedly deceptive labels, can’t seek monetary relief because they failed to show a classwide method of determining damages, the court said.
