Best Buy, Great Call Sued Over Medical Alert System for Seniors

Best Buy Inc. and its Great Call Inc. unit deceptively market a medical alert service that doesn’t work, a new proposed class suit says.

The companies are the leading providers of connected health and personal emergency response services to senior citizens, with more than 900,000 paying subscribers, according to the suit.

The companies said their device, the “Lively Mobile Plus,” and ongoing monitoring service will provide “help anytime, anywhere, 24/7,” and has the fastest call response time, enhanced GPS, and fall detection, the suit says.
