Online home furnishings retailer Bellacor.com Inc. tricks consumers with fake reference prices and corresponding phantom sales, according to a new complaint in federal court in California.
Californian Andrew Inga alleges he bought a “650 Fill Power White Medium King Down Cotton Pillow” advertised as having a “compare” price of $108.05 and a sale price of $93.75.
He thought he was getting a significant bargain because he liked the item and believed the discounted price likely wouldn’t last, his would-be class suit alleges.
