Bayer Healthcare Beats Injury Lawsuit Over MRI Contrast Dye

Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Inc. defeated a suit by a woman who alleged she suffered organ damage caused by its Magnevist contrast agent.

Federal drug labeling law bars Denise McGrath’s claims that she wasn’t warned about risks of the gadolinium-based dye, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York said June 24.

Magnevist is administered to patients to enhance the quality of MRIs.

McGrath received Magnevist in 2015 and alleged she continues to suffer from fibrosis, or thickening tissue, in her bones and organs caused by toxic levels of gadolinium in her body.
