Bayer Faces Would-Be Class Suit Over ‘Mineral-Based’ Sunscreen

Bayer Healthcare LLC and Beiersdorf Inc. must face a proposed nationwide class suit over sunscreen marketing in a California federal court, which said it has specific personal jurisdiction over the non-California plaintiffs.

Bristol-Myers Squibb v. Superior Court, the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that limited where companies can be forced to face state court “mass actions,” doesn’t apply to class actions in federal court, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said.
