Asbestos Warning Duty Includes Replacement Parts

Armstrong International Inc. and other manufacturers of products with asbestos-containing components have a duty to warn users of replacement parts with the same risk, even if they don’t make them, a New Jersey appeals court ruled Aug. 6.

But the foundation of the unpublished ruling—on an issue that has divided state and federal courts—could be changed by a similar case now pending review by the U.S. Supreme Court.
