Apple Watch Consumers Pursue Narrowed Lawsuit Over Screen Defect

Apple Watch users can proceed with some claims in a proposed class suit alleging the device’s batteries can swell and make the screen detach or crack, exposing sharp edges and leading to device failure or personal injury.

Chris Smith and others sued in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, alleging Apple Inc. failed to allot enough space within the watch to prevent the screen issue, despite knowing the battery can suddenly expand.
