Apple Loses Bid for Early End to iPhone Safety Suit

Apple Inc. won’t get an early exit from a suit alleging certain smartphones emit radiofrequency radiation above federal limits when carried near the body, and the federal trial court in California allowed immediate discovery concerning testing and other issues.

A lab hired by the Chicago Tribune found that the iPhone 7, 8, and X showed exposure above the federal limit when tested under conditions simulating the distance when carrying the phone in a shirt or pants pocket, Andrew Cohen and others alleged.
