Apple iPhone $35 Million Settlement Gets Initial Green Light

Apple Inc. and consumers who said a defect in their iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models caused poor sound quality and impaired the phones’ calling ability got the first nod for a $35 million class settlement.

The deal was preliminarily approved by Judge Jon S. Tigar of the US District Court for the Northern District of California, who signed a modified version of a proposed order on Tuesday.

The accord covers individuals who owned an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus between Sept. 16, 2016, and Jan. 3, 2023, said they experienced audio problems, and contacted Apple about the issue. Phone ...
