Apple Faces Claim That Its Cell Data Use Interfered With iPhones

A consumer suing on behalf of iPhone owners with limited data plans may proceed with allegations Apple Inc.'s iOS 13 operating system interfered with their possession of the phones by secretly transmitting quantities of data for the company’s own use, a federal court in California ruled.

The harm Alasdair Turner alleges “is far from an insubstantial interference,” Judge Edward J. Davila said Monday for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
