Amazon Settles Tennessee Hoverboard Case Before Trial

Amazon.com Inc. settled a Tennessee family’s suit over a house fire and injuries allegedly due to a defective hoverboard as the case ramped up toward trial, according to a federal court docket entry.

It would likely have been the first product liability trial against the company.

Mediator D. Tracy Shaw didn’t report the terms of the settlement in the filing late Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
