Amazon Settles N.J. Scooter Case Where Judge Found It a ‘Seller’

A mother’s suit against Amazon.com Inc. on behalf of her injured son has settled after the company “amicably resolved” the claims, according to filings in a New Jersey federal court that determined two years ago that Amazon could be held liable as a “seller” for marketplace items like the boy’s scooter.

The terms of the settlement weren’t disclosed. Attorneys for the parties didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment Wednesday.
