Amazon Denied California High Court Review Over Injury Liability

The California Supreme Court on Wednesday denied Amazon.com LLC’s bid for review of a personal injury case in which the company says it lacks liability under California law for defective products sold on its web marketplace.

The justices also decided to keep the precedential value of the intermediate appeals court’s opinion in favor of Angela Bolger, who alleges she was badly burned by a laptop battery. The Aug. 13 decision of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, allowed Bolger’s suit against Amazon to proceed.
