Amazon Falsely Advertises Lithium-Ion Batteries, Suit Says

Amazon.com Inc. advertises, markets, and sells defective, dangerous lithium-ion batteries with inflated claimed energy capacities, as well as products that use them, two California consumers allege in a new suit.

“Amazon is aware of the safety hazard fraudulent batteries pose to the public and to its customers.” but it ignores the risk of fraudulent 18650 rechargeable batteries sold on its site, Craig Crosby and Christopher Johnson say in their complaint, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
