Amazon ‘Acted as a Seller’ of Defective Pull-Up Bar, Suit Says

A pull-up bar purchased on Amazon.com Inc.'s web marketplace failed and caused a serious knee injury, a Washington, D.C., man says in a Thursday lawsuit that may give the federal court there its first chance to address whether Amazon is a “seller” subject to liability.

The “Fulfillment by Amazon” transaction included shipment from an Amazon warehouse in Kentucky in a package with the Amazon logo, Michael Rosen says. His complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
