Alfasigma, VSL Owe Legal Fees to Probiotics Rival for Contempt

Alfasigma sPa’s US subsidiary and probiotics producer VSL Pharmaceuticals Inc. were properly found in contempt of court for violating a court’s marketing injunction and must pay attorneys’ fees to a product inventor and allied company ExeGi Pharma LLC, the Fourth Circuit ruled Tuesday.

Even though Alfasigma USA Inc. and VSL say they were unaware of violative statements remaining in website, social media, and press release materials, they nevertheless should have known about them, Judge Albert Diaz said for the appeals court.
