Guardian Technologies LLC convinced a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit alleging statements about the antimicrobial properties of a UV-C bulb attached to a HEPA filter air purifier were misleading.
Consumers alleging the light didn’t provide any antimicrobial benefit failed to show which company statements they relied on when making their purchases, “a deficiency fatal” to their consumer protection claims, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Thursday.
