$7.9M Food Class Settlement Approved Over Pasta Maker’s Pro-Health Labels

A $7.9 million nationwide class settlement resolving claims that a Minnesota pasta maker’s product labels were deceptive has garnered final court approval (Mirakay v. Dakota Growers Pasta Co., 2014 BL 293759, D.N.J., 13-04429, 10/20/14).

Judge Joel A. Pisano of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey approved the deal and certified a settlement class in the consumer suit against Dakota Growers Pasta Co. over its marketing of Dreamfields pasta as a low-glycemic and low-carbohydrate alternative to traditional pasta
