A $26 million class settlement covering hair-loss claims against the maker of Wen hair-care products should be approved, consumers told a federal court (Friedman v. Guthy-Renker LLC, C.D. Cal., No. 14-06009, motion filed 9/13/16).
Lead plaintiff Amy Friedman and others sued marketing company Guthy-Renker LLC and hair care product maker Wen by Chaz Dean Inc. They alleged the products were deceptively marketed as gentle and said some users suffered hair loss or scalp irritation.
Chaz Dean, a Los Angeles-based celebrity hair stylist, developed the Wen by Chaz Dean line.
