Warburg to Buy German Helmet Maker Uvex in €800 Million Deal (2)

Warburg Pincus is acquiring a majority stake in Uvex Group, the German maker of sports and safety helmets and goggles, in another landmark sale of a German family-held niche champion to private equity.

The deal will see the owner families Winter and Grau keep a significant minority stake and remain actively involved in the growth of the business, according to a statement Tuesday that confirmed an earlier Bloomberg News report. Financial details weren’t disclosed.
