Two Sigma Raises $288 Million for Data-Focused Venture Fund

The venture capital arm of Two Sigma raised $288 million for its third fund as the quantitative investing giant steps up investments in early-stage companies.

The fund is the first from New York-based Two Sigma Ventures to gather capital mostly from outside investors, including foundations and pensions, the firm said Wednesday in a statement.

Two Sigma invests in companies focused on data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and advanced hardware.
