Trump’s Ditched Hotel Deal With Tom Barrack Comes Up at NY Trial

A real estate deal Donald Trump initially struck with former business partner Tom Barrack more than a decade ago re-emerged at New York’s civil fraud trial against the former president.

The deal involved Trump’s effort to convert the Old Post Office in Washington, DC, into a luxury hotel. He told the federal government in July 2011 that Colony Capital, the firm Barrack founded, was “heavily involved” in the project, according to documents disclosed in a Manhattan courtroom Wednesday during testimony by Trump’s daughter and former employee, Ivanka.
