Trump’s AI Advisers Urge Congress to Pass National Set of Rules

Top Trump administration advisers urged Congress to enact a national standard for artificial intelligence oversight that follows the legislative framework sent to US lawmakers aimed at preempting a growing number of state rules.

White House Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios said Tuesday that a blueprint unveiled by the administration last week sets several critical priorities that include protecting children, shielding ratepayers from spikes in utility bills and safeguarding intellectual property.
