Tom Gores’s Platinum Equity Hires Former NYC Investment Chief

Platinum Equity has tapped a high-profile former client to bolster its leadership ranks.

The private-equity firm run by billionaire Tom Goreshas hired New York City’s former investment chief, Alex Doñé, as a managing director to help with strategic planning, investor capital development and other leadership initiatives, according to a statement.

Doñé joins Platinum after nearly a decade with the city comptroller’s Bureau of Asset Management, which oversees over $265 billion of retirement assets for city employees including teachers, firefighters and police.
