Star JPMorgan Tech Banker Namburi to Join General Catalyst

Veteran JPMorgan Chase & Co. technology banker Madhu Namburi is leaving the Wall Street bank after 25 years to join a venture capital firm.

Namburi, who was most recently a global chair of technology investment banking, will depart JPMorgan in August, according to a memo reviewed by Bloomberg News. A JPMorgan spokesperson confirmed the contents of the memo.

He will join General Catalyst as a managing director to co-run the VC investor’s Creation fund, which focuses on combining technology companies and creating others from scratch. The firm has $36 billion in assets under management and recently raised in $8 billion ...
